Moxie Girlz™ Poopsy Pets™ Kellan Doll Review

(Disclosure: I have received this product from MGA as part of their toytester program. All opinions are my own.)

Over the past few months, my daughter has been showing more and more interest in playing with fashion dolls. They are the first thing she is drawn to at friends' and family's houses. They are the first thing she mentions when asked what she wants for Christmas. She skips right past the baby dolls and blocks at stores and heads straight for the fashion doll aisle. In fact, we've spent so much time wandering the doll aisle at our favorite store that I've become quite informed on all the different fashion dolls available these days - and I have to say that I am very fond of the Moxie Girlz brand. They are fun, affordable, and the empowering "Be true! Be you!" theme fits right in with my "Girl Power" style of parenting.

So, I was very happy to receive an email inviting me to take part in the Moxie Girlz Insiders community. Being a part of #TeamMoxie gives me the opportunity share my opinions, reviews and news for all things Moxie Girlz, which I love, and being able to test toys and win giveaways is so much fun! Soon after joining Moxie Girlz Insiders, I was sent a Poopsy Pets Kellan doll, and my daughter and I couldn't have been more thrilled.

Poopsy Pets are a line of Moxie Girlz dolls that are as hysterical to play with as they are cute and stylish. As you can see on the Moxie Girlz Website, each doll in the Poopsy Pets line comes with a pet that "poops" out their own unique kind of pellet. A while back, I bought my daughter the Lexa doll that came with a bunny who poops glitter. She absolutely loved it, so I was overjoyed to add Kellan and her pet tiger (who poops stripes!!) to her collection. I admit that my sense of humor can be childish, and my daughter totally gets a kick out of potty humor, so I'm very impressed that these pooping pets manage to be cute, funny, charming, and not at all gross.

While this Poopsy Pets Kellan doll and her tiger are tons of fun, I was a little disappointed that we were unable to get the doll to stand on her own even though it says on the box (and website) that she should be able to do so without using a doll stand. It's not a huge drawback, but it's a bit difficult for my daughter to hold the doll upright and feed a striped pellet to the tiger at the same time.

And speaking of pellets, these things are tiny. I wouldn't recommend playing with them anywhere they could easily disappear - like in couch cushions, under dressers, in the car (can you tell I'm speaking from experience here??) To ensure that my little one doesn't lose all six pellets in a single day, I just give her one pellet to play with at a time. That way, if one goes missing we can look for it first before she gets another one.

Feeding your Poopsy Pet is easy enough. You put the pellet in their mouth.

Then push down on their back.

And out comes the poop!! The pellets have a tendency to bounce and scatter on hardwood or tile floors which always sends my daughter into fits of laughter because bouncing striped poop is hysterical, of course!

The Poopsy Pets Kellan doll really is wonderful, and I have so much respect for the Moxie Girlz brand for recognizing that girls (and not just boys) can enjoy and laugh at silly things like potty humor. That fact just makes me even more proud to be on #TeamMoxie!

AVEENO® Positively Radiant® Targeted Tone Corrector Review

All of my life, I have had sensitive combination skin, that, in addition to being simultaneously dry and oily, is also prone to breakouts, blackheads, and large pores. It is hard for me to find a product that treats one of my issues without adversely affecting another in the process. So, when I learned that I had been selected for the #RadiantWithAVEENO VoxBox from Influenster, I was beyond thrilled. Having used Aveeno's Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer for quite some time with great success, I had definitely come to associate the Aveeno brand with gentle yet effective products. And now that I'm starting to notice some uneven skin tone and discoloration on my face, I wanted nothing more than for the Targeted Tone Corrector to work it's magic!

As expected, the Targeted Tone Corrector was as gentle as can be on my face. It didn't sting, leave a rash, cause a break out, dry out my cheeks, or turn my T-zone into an oil slick. In fact, it left my skin feeling silky smooth and looking brighter after just one use. Not only was I surprised that it seemed to work that quickly, but I was surprised it had worked at all considering the first time I used it was one morning after I had gotten literally zero hours of sleep. Yep, I had pulled an all nighter, which left my skin looking exceptionally dull, tired, and lifeless. After washing with a gentle cleanser, I applied a pea sized amount of the Targeted Tone Corrector over my entire face. I let my face dry and then began checking my complexion in every light source available - the florescent lighting in my bathroom, outside in the bright, bright morning sun, in my bedroom where natural light filters in only through a tinted sliding glass door. Without a doubt, my skin was noticeably brighter, and I'd say it was even luminous and glowing.

Unfortunately, these positive aspects were short lasted. I've used the Targeted Tone Corrector once or twice a day - every day - since I received it from Influenster, and I have not seen any permanent changes to my skin tone. There is a definite benefit to using it, as it does make my skin look wonderful (without makeup!) while it's on, but there is no marked difference to my bare skin and that is something I would expect this product to do based on the claims. I will continue to use it, because I think it works wonderfully as a sort of primer-highlighter hybrid, but I do not expect it to have a lasting effect on my complexion.

Above is the list of ingredients found on the AVEENO® Positively Radiant®  Targeted Tone Corrector box.

*I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.*

My PinchMe Reviews

DISCLAIMER: I received these products for free from PinchMe. All opinions are my own, and I wasn't paid to share them.

I finally finished testing out the samples I received in my first free PinchMe box, and I figured I should post my reviews here to flesh out this blog a little more. I didn't take any more pictures after the first one, so this might look a little wordy. I'll have to remember to take more when I get my next box.

My review of Dove's Oxygen Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner:

I really liked how soft this made my hair feel. It didn't leave my hair feeling "squeaky" clean (a.k.a overly dry) and it didn't weigh it down either. It had a nice, delicate scent that wasn't overpowering. My favorite aspect about the product is that the conditioner felt like it actually soaked into my hair instead of just sitting on top of it like so many other conditioners do. Because of that, I could tell my hair was actually soaking up the moisture, which is great. I was very pleased with Dove's Oxygen Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, so I will definitely be buying full size bottles after I run out of the shampoo and conditioner I already have. (Five Stars)

My review of  Milk-Bone Brushing Chews:

I don't normally give my dog treats, so when I offered her the Milk-Bone Brushing Chews treat, she devoured it in minutes. On the one hand, that's great because it means she obviously loved it. But on the other hand - as other reviewers have pointed out - I don't know if it made much difference in terms of dental health and cleanliness. Still, she enjoyed it and it made me happy to see my old dog so happy about getting a treat. However, I'm only giving it three stars because the ingredient list is filled with preservatives, food coloring, and other things like chicken by-product. I'd rather play it safe and brush her teeth myself and give her apple slices and baby carrots as a way to clean her teeth and curb bad breath. (Three Stars)

My review of Sinful Colors Nail Polish:

I love Sinful Colors and own quite a few of their polishes. They're inexpensive, but the quality is just as good or sometimes even better than the nail polishes that cost more. That is very appealing to me because it means I can get a whole bunch of new polishes without breaking the bank (and Sinful Colors has a HUGE range of colors, which is awesome.) For some of the colors, you do have to apply more than two coats, but the polish dries fast and lasts long so it's not a bother. I only rating it four stars, however, because I am a fan of Sinful Colors in general, but I wasn't very fond of the sample color I received (Open Seas.) (Four Stars)

Even though I've only just gotten my first free box, I'm already enjoying PinchMe very much. Getting deluxe or full-sized samples for free in exchange for filling out a feedback survey with my honest opinions is a pretty sweet deal. It can be a bit of a pain to order the samples when they release new ones though. So many people try to access the site at once to order samples and that can slow the site way down or even break it. But I haven't had any problems ordering myself, so it's not too big of an issue for me. I was able to get two more samples on the last sample day (June 24th) and I cannot wait to get it! Next sample day is July 15th at 12 pm and I know I'll be waiting patiently to order more free samples!

Got a lot of great goodies in the mail today. Three subscription boxes, a handful of samples, and even the prize I won in Playmobil's Mother's Day contest on Facebook. I love mail days like this; it's like getting to celebrate a mini-Christmas!
